Our
Process
Step
1. Oral history and stories. We come to your
office or home to record your oral history. We ask stimulating
questions to help you tell about your life including some
of the more important and significant times, memorable family
events and stories. Usually, it will take two of these sessions.
We keep the recording session very informal. We can stop
and start at your convenience. If there are some questions
you don't want to talk about, that is fine. After all, this
is meant to be an enjoyable experience. It is you talking
about your life. You are the expert on this topic and so
no preparation is necessary.
Step2.
Photographs and personal videos or film transferred to
a digital form. We ask you to gather all the photos
and any other material that you may have which illustrates
the various parts of the family history and /or stories
you have talked about. With your permission, we transfer
these materials to a digital format we can use in the video
to illustrate some special life event or a family story.
We keep what you give us safely protected and returned to
you in the condition it was when you gave it to us.
Step3.
Video "on camera" segments. When we return to record
the video segments, we will have had discussions with you
about the kinds of questions and stories you would like
to video tape. We will record the video using a professional
video camera and lighting. We work with you to make the
video portion as easy for you as the audio taping experience.
Step4.
Editing-Putting it all together. The final step is
for us to put together all the oral history segments and
the video segments on special events or family stories and
"life lessons and values" that you have chosen to do into
a master DVD program package and deliver to you 10 DVD nicely
packaged copies.
